Family & Children

Jesus' Little Lambs

Families are important and we want to support all those faithful parents who are raising their children for the Lord during difficult times.

Our children's education program includes Sunday morning Children's Church during the school year. Children join us for the early part of the worship service and are then dismissed following the Children's Message. Children return to their families after the sermon, and in time to join their families during Holy Communion.

We also have several special family events during the year including a Fall Festival in October, a children's Christmas party, and an Easter Party in the Park. Watch this website for more details.

MOMS AND TOTS FELLOWSHIP

On Thursday mornings, all moms and their precious little ones are invited to a hobby farm operated by one of our member families. There will be time for enjoy the farm together and connect with other families raising young children. Contact the church office at ...

Meet our Pastor

Introducing .... In August 2024 we celebrated with our retiring Pastor, Rev. Wayne Lunderby, who is beginning the next chapter of his life and his walk with the Lord. We were blessed to have Pastor and his wife Cindy lead us for over 25 years! So, now we have begun the process to find our next Pastor. We expect this process will take some time, so, in the meantime we are so blessed to have two other retired Pastors in our church community, and both have stepped up to lead us in worship each Sunday. Thank you to Rev. William Mundt and Rev. Ray Maher, who are currently assisting us. On Sunday, November 3, the Voters Assembly agreed that the next step in our journey towards getting a new full-time Pastor, would be to call a Vacancy Pastor to assist us through this process and to ensure that important ministries do not fall by the wayside in the interim. He gathers us to receive His gifts—Himself, His name, His flesh and blood Son, His Word of pardon and peace, His life, His grace and Spirit. In the Divine Service He distributes these gifts to us. Here we receive the forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation Christ won for us on the cross. God calls and gathers us into His holy Christian church where we have communion with Him and all His saints in heaven and on earth. Heaven and earth intersect in the Divine Service. Blessed on Purpose - What You Can Do

There are many needs in the world. Even our small response, given in love, can make a difference!

You can bless your neighbors in Chilliwack

Through our partnership with other organizations in downtown Chilliwack you can make life a little easier for struggling individuals and families.

Our Lenten Servant Project this year will be to support the work of the Community Angels Food and Hosuing Support Society, an organization dedicated to addressing the challenges of food and housing insecurity among seniors in the Chilliwack area. Specifically, our efforts will be focused on collecting protein drinks such as Ensure or Boost which will be given to vulnerable seniors through the Community Angels program. You may drop off your gifts anytime the church is open. You may also support this project by donating to our Local Relief Fund and we will purchase the beverages on your behalf.

Our monthly newsletter will keep you up to date on all our special events, and the many ways we can serve God and our neighbors as we journey through this life together. If you would like more information about any of these opportunities, please contact the church office.

Thank you for caring During the season of Lent our congregation responded in love to several special servant projects. This generous giving allowed us to provide a year's worth of support for a church worker in Ukraine whose congregation is on the front lines of the battle. We also gathered in 30 cases of protein drinks for a local seniors' support program, and we raised funds for a children's feeding program in Nicaragua. We don't do these things for any personal gain, but simply to bless others as the Lord has blessed us. ...

Volunteer Vacancies

Blessed to Serve

Volunteers are the backbone of our organization. We have only a small paid staff, relying instead on our many members who serve the Lord by serving our church and our community. From time to time we have vacancies in these important roles. For information about how you can bless others through our ministry please contact the church office at [email protected] or 604-792-9577.

Feeling Techy? ... We could use your tech skills in our media program. We are looking for someone to join the team of Media Shout presenters, operating the system that projects the worship service onto the screen in the sanctuary.

We also need at least one more person to operate our worship streaming system. This involves operating the cameras and the broadcast console during the worship service.

Youth & Young Adults

Confirmation Class

This education program is for youth age 12 and up who are interested in exploring the basic doctrine of the Christian Church, in particular the teachings of the Lutheran Church. Youth who complete this two-year program are eligible to become Confirmed Members of the congregation. Call the church office for more information or to register. Suring the summer there will be two day-long Confirmation Learning Events. There will be some in-depth lessons, some fun and games and of course some food. Youth Group

Our Youth Group is for Middle School and High School students. Many in this group also attend our Confirmation Class. In addition to studying together, this group joins with other youth groups in the Fraser Valley for regular social and education events. Contact the church office for more information.

Young Adults - age 18+

We have an enthusiastic group of young adults who meet weekly for Bible study and to plan both social events and servant opportunities. Please email the ...

Seniors

WE'RE ALL YOUNG AT HEART

NO MATTER WHAT THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE SAYS! Our seniors meet once a month, on the second Friday, for a potluck lunch, maybe some fun and games ... and a time of prayer and devotion. We are not checking ID at the door, so everyone is welcome to join in this time of fellowship with those who have experienced life with all its ups and down.
