Family & Children

Jesus' Little Lambs

Families are important and we want to support all those faithful parents who are raising their children for the Lord during difficult times.

Our children's education program includes Sunday School during the school year. Children join us for the early part of the worship service and are then dismissed following the Children's Message. Children return to their families after the sermon, and in time to join their families during Holy Communion.

We also have several special family events during the year including our School's Out Carnival in June. See details below.

MOMS AND TOTS FELLOWSHIP

Note - June sessions cancelled. Group will meet again on July 2. All moms (grandmas, aunties, guardians) and their precious little ones are invited to a hobby farm operated by one of our member families. Men

It is important that men have an opportunity to meet together, study God's Word together, and enjoy good times together.

Men's Fellowship
Men of all ages (including teen boys) are invited to gather for an evening of fellowship once a month in the church hall. These gatherings will usually be held on the first Saturday of the month at 5:30 pm. We'll BBQ up some dinner and enjoy card games and fellowship with other men. Bring your own meat to BBQ and a snack or salad to share ... and please do invite friends and family.

Seniors

WE'RE ALL YOUNG AT HEART NO MATTER WHAT THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE SAYS!
Our seniors meet once a month, on the second Friday, for a potluck lunch, maybe some fun and games ... and a time of prayer and devotion. The time is 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. For our June gathering we are heading into God's great outdoors for a picnic at beautiful Gwynne Vaughn Park. Everyone welcome. Please bring something to share for the potluck lunch, and of course, invite your friends. The park is at the corner of Hope River Rd and Williams St. The parking lot entrance is on Williams St. We are not checking ID at the door, so everyone is welcome to join in this time of fellowship with those who have experienced life with all its ups and down. Our History

In 1923, when the population of Chilliwack numbered about 3,000, Rev. V.L. Meyer began work here. Traveling from Vancouver, he brought the Word of God to a little group of Lutherans ... just four people to start. By the end of the year, the number had grown to 20 people and services were conducted in the member's homes. In 1930, Candidate A.H. Haake took over the work in the valley. In addition to Chilliwack, Rev. Haake served Lulu Island, New Westminister, Crescent, Cloverdale, South Sumas, Bradner and Hope. Living in New Westminster, he became the founder of Mt. Calvary Church in that city.
